This summer-break project completely modernized the school’s central plant and comfort systems under an aggressive two-month schedule. The team installed two 300-ton SPX Marley fluid coolers and ran new 8-inch condenser water risers up nine stories on the exterior of the building, while upgrading the condenser water pumps and converting the system to a 30% propylene glycol solution for better reliability. Inside the school, new floor distribution ductwork and water-cooled AC units were added across the administrative floors, supported by field-assembled plate-and-frame heat exchangers serving both the condenser water system and the geothermal heat recovery loop. All of this work was completed with no disruption to school operations, showcasing precise planning, tight coordination, and the ability to deliver major infrastructure upgrades in a live, occupied environment.
